Manager / DOT Compliance Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Manager will promote all aspects of safety in all areas of operations at all George Leck and Son Inc. Waste Services Ivyland PA facility, including Main office and terminal, as well as garage/shop departments. The
Safety Manager will also ensure compliance with all Federal, State,and Local safety laws and regulations. This job requires
no travel other then new or required training for the candidate. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Compliance - Monitor compliance with Federal DOT
Hours of Service (HOS) regulations through audits. Monitor Driver/Vehicle Examination Reports
(Inspection Reports). Monitor the employees compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures.
Conduct roadside inspections of company equipment passing through DOT weigh stations & checkpoints.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Handle DOT complaints under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Regulations (FMCSR). Ensure compliance with CSA2010 initiative.
2. Accident & Injury Prevention -
Provide necessary assistance with post-accident and post-injury investigations to ensure proper completion
of required documentation and reporting to the proper agencies. Review all investigation reports
on accidents and injuries. Monitor SAFETY/RISK reporting for accidents and injuries. Review
employees accident/injury histories and target issues identified as target factors. Create
and implement an annual Safety Action plan to improve overall safety.
3. Training - Assist with the initial
training of drivers and certify instructors for road and city operations. Assist with road testing
of drivers in training to evaluate their performance. Conduct Road Patrols. Assist with training
of all drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles. Handle the Re-education program for non compliant employees.
Assist with Hazardous Material and Hazard Communication and safety training. Spearhead the initial round of Corporate
Safety Training and provide ongoing training as new initiatives are implemented. Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. 5 + years risk management or safety department experience.
2. Candidate must possess working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier DOT guidelines, OSHA compliance, CSA 2010,
and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
3. 5
+ years prior supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelors Degree
in a safety related field of motor transportation.
2. Obtain Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Within 90 days

Front-End Loader Driver Posted 8/7/2010
At George Leck and Son
Inc. Commercial Drivers operate front-end or read load trucks to services commercial routes removing and transporting waste
or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service approximately 100 to 150 commercial customers
per day according to the assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill
or drop-off location.
Routes may require Drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight
areas in city and suburban locations. Backing skills are essential, as a large percentage of the time spent servicing customers
is done in reverse. Our drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts and at times need
to climb on to the truck containers to smooth loads or secure traps for transport.
Our drivers, who have safe driving
records, comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with company policy. Drivers are expected
to communicate professionally with customers and dispatchers at all times. This includes receiving complaints about schedules
and quality of service. Our Drivers must make note of and report on any such complaints and respond in a courteous and respectful
manner.
Required work hours may be up to the legal limits allowed by the FMCSA and may require weekend and/or holiday
work. Work hours will vary by route. Drivers must be able to read and understand a map, complete daily driver logs as well
as pre and post trip truck inspections.

Waste Services the Residential driver position is one of our most physically demanding jobs. Drivers are responsible for the
collection and hand loading of residential waste, as well as the transporting of this waste by a front-load or rear-load truck
to a landfill site. The position routinely requires extensive near-continuous physical exertions such as repetitive lifting,
pushing, and pulling receptacles that weigh from 50 to 75 pounds as part of their rigorous daily routine. Often, these waste
receptacles have no wheels or handles for maneuverability, and the driver must have the physical strength to adjust accordingly.
This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting the truck between 800 and 1000 times every shift and
constantly exposed to unpleasant sights and smells.
Our drivers, who have safe driving records, comply with all
local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with company policy. Drivers are expected to communicate professionally
